Terms of Service

Effective July 27, 2026 · Version 2026-07-27

1. Agreement

These Terms are an agreement between you and Starry Decisis, Inc., a Delaware corporation headquartered in New Hampshire (“Starry,” “we,” or “us”). By creating an account, checking the acceptance box, or using Starry, you agree to these Terms and our Confidentiality & Data Handling notice. If you use Starry for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it.

2. The service is a research aid

Starry provides software-assisted legal research, analysis, and drafting. It is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice, and does not create an attorney-client relationship. Its coverage may be limited by jurisdiction, court level, source, or date. Results may be incomplete or incorrect. You are responsible for independently reviewing the law and verifying every citation, quotation, characterization, case treatment, statute, and generated passage before relying on or filing it.

3. Accounts and acceptable use

You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure. An Individual subscription is for one named user and may not be shared. You may not use Starry unlawfully; interfere with or probe the service; bypass access or usage limits; scrape or systematically extract the service or its data; or resell, sublicense, or provide the service to others.

4. Your materials and data

You retain ownership of the facts, documents, notes, and other material you submit. You give Starry the limited permission needed to host, process, transmit, and display that material to operate and secure the service. You represent that you are authorized to submit it. Our Confidentiality & Data Handling notice explains storage, analytics, deletion, and third-party AI processing.

5. Subscription, renewal, and cancellation

The Individual plan costs $99 USD per month, plus applicable taxes. It is billed in advance and automatically renews each month until canceled. Payments are processed by Stripe. You may cancel at any time through Billing settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. Payments are nonrefundable and we do not provide prorated credits except where required by law. We will disclose and obtain agreement to any price change before it applies to a renewal.

6. Ownership

Starry and its licensors own the service, software, design, and related intellectual property. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, nonexclusive, nontransferable right to use the service during your subscription. You may use and modify output for your own professional work, but no output transfers ownership of Starry’s software or underlying third-party materials.

7. Availability and termination

We may change or discontinue features and do not promise uninterrupted availability. We may suspend or terminate access for nonpayment, a material violation of these Terms, unlawful use, or a security risk. You may stop using Starry and cancel your subscription at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, and liability limits—will survive.

8. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Starry is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim all express and implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement, accuracy, completeness, and availability. We do not warrant any legal or professional outcome.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Starry Decisis, Inc. and its officers, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or professional claims arising from your reliance on the service. Our total liability arising from the service will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid Starry during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits apply regardless of the theory of liability and do not limit liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

10. General

New Hampshire law governs these Terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute must be brought in the state or federal courts located in New Hampshire, and each party consents to their jurisdiction. These Terms, the Confidentiality & Data Handling notice, and any checkout terms are the entire agreement about the service. If one provision is unenforceable, the others remain effective. We may update these Terms, but will give notice of material changes and request renewed acceptance when appropriate.
